QUERY NO 1:

Mr. Soon Doss asks, “What happens when attar is used instead of essential oil?” Tell me, It’s very urgent and very important….

SOLUTION :

Sir, before answering your questions, I like to apologize to see your query after a week. I am extremely sorry for the delay.

‘Attar’ also known as ‘attar’ is also an essential oil derived from botanical sources. Two types of attar's are available (Warm and cool attar's). Although attar's are mostly used as a perfume, they are also used for medicinal purpose too.

No problem, attar can be used. Two disadvantages are there in using attar instead of normal essential oils. They are

  • Output of perfume smell will not be as effective as essential oil.

  • The strength of essential oil will be good as it can withstand for longer time.

Attar can be used instead of essential oil but the quantity that is the percentage of attar should be used more than the normal percentage of essential oils. 3 or 4 % of soap should consists of attar for long persistence of smell.

QUERY 2:

Mr. VEERA R.K asks, “How much pH is good for our skin?”

SOLUTION 2:

In chemistry, pH denotes “potential of hydrogen or power of hydrogen”. pH is a scale

used to specify the acidity or basically of an aqueous solution. If the pH value is high, the product is alkaline and if it is low, the product is acidic. The pH scale ranges from 0 to 14. The pH range from 0 to 6 is acidic. pH 7 is considered as neutral. pH 8 to 14 is alkaline. If the soap has

NEUTRAL pH (7.0) – From the term itself, its well understood that neutral is safe to use and it will not do any problem to the skin.

ACIDIC pH (5.5 – 6.0) – Acidic pH will give brightening effect to the skin. The skin glows in acidic pH.

BASIC pH (7.0 – 9.0) – Basic pH gives strong cleansing effect. So, you can choose the pH according to your skin type. Our skin pH is unique for all. Depending upon the skin texture, soap pH has to be set. click the below link to know more about

QUERY 4:

One of our viewer asks, “Can we add Bees wax to all kinds of soaps? Whether it is good for skin?

SOLUTION 4:

Beeswax is a natural wax and it is a made from the honeycomb of the honeybee and other bees. The mixing of pollen oils into honeycomb wax turns the white wax into a yellow or brown color. Yellow and white beeswax are used as thickeners, emulsifiers and as stiffening agents in cosmetics. It is used in lip balm, lip gloss, hand creams, and moisturizers. Beeswax hydrates, soothes and calms the skin.

Yes, beeswax can be added to all kinds of soap but it should not exceed 1%. For example, for 1kg of oil, only 10g of beeswax should be added. It has to be melted and then mixed with heated oil and lye resulting in saponification. Thus formed soap will be very hard. Beeswax gives hardness to the soap.so that soap will not be dissolved so easily. It increases the shelf life of soap.
