QUERY 1:
For preparing lye solution, 100% of caustic soda should be dissolved in 200% of water. Can we dissolve 100% of caustic soda in 100% of water and remaining 100% of water can be replaced by any fruit or vegetable juice.
ANSWER 1:
Yes, fruit juice or vegetable juice can be replaced but not directly in the raw juice form, If it is used in the raw juice form, it leads to spoilage and growth of microbes can be seen. So, the fruit or vegetable juice should be used by distillation process called HYDROSOL. This process is nothing but cooking the fruit or vegetable in a cooker or steamer and collect the steam droplets by condensation procedure and replace it for water. The property of the extract is retained in the soap and it also gives good stability and it even increases the shelf life of the soap.
QUERY 2:
Customer purchased sandalwood and vlangvlang fragrance oil ( which smells good). He has taken 1.5 times water content for calculated lye solution. After adding fragrance oils, could not able to pour the soap solution into the mold as fast tracing was accelerated.
ANSWER 2:
Addition of sandalwood fragrance does not fast trace but addition of vlangvlang fragrance fastens tracing. This can be prevented by measuring 2 or 2.5 times water instead of 1.5 times water. After adding vlangvlang fragrance, do not use power blender. Instead use hand blender and stir it very very slowly and mix thoroughly with hand blender itself. Because mixing speed also accelerates tracing process. so, this method sounds good and excellent output will be obtained.
